Stainless Steel 440B is made up of high carbon, 16–18% chromium, along with small amounts of manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. The elevated carbon content significantly boosts hardness and tensile strength after heat treatment. It boasts a tensile strength range of 750–1100 MPa and excellent edge-retention properties. 440B also shows good wear resistance and moderate corrosion resistance, particularly in hardened and tempered states. Its mechanical characteristics make it ideal for precision components that require high durability, superior strength, and reliable performance in abrasive and mechanically stressful environments.

Stainless Steel 440B Sheet and Plates is a high carbon, chromium-based alloy known for its excellent toughness, strength and corrosion resistance. Its composition contains about 16-18% chromium, 0.75-1.00% carbon, and traces of manganese, silicon and phosphorus. This combination gives the 440B exceptional resistance to corrosion, oxidation and high temperatures. Mechanical properties of stainless steel 440B include tensile strength of 700-850 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa and strength up to 58 HRC Ideal for applications requiring corrosion resistance and strength high quality, such as valves, shafts and tools.
