Stainless Steel 348 angle is an austenitic steel that resists intergranular corrosion well, especially in welded structures. It includes 18-20% chromium, 8-10.5% nickel and 0.04-0.10% carbon, as well as traces of other elements such as manganese, silicon and iron. Mechanical properties of SS 348 include tensile strength of 515-725 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40-50%. It maintains good formability, weldability and oxidation resistance at high temperatures (up to 870°C). This makes it ideal for chemical, petrochemical and high temperature applications.
