Hastelloy foils have a composition that includes approximately 52% nickel, 22% chromium, 14% molybdenum, and 3% iron, with trace amounts of tungsten, cobalt, and manganese. This composition provides excellent corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments such as chemical processing and marine applications. The mechanical properties of Hastelloy foils include a tensile strength of around 690 MPa, a yield strength of 250 MPa, and an elongation of approximately 40%, offering a combination of strength, flexibility, and durability. The high chromium and molybdenum content enhances resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, ensuring reliable performance.
